Treat Williams, an actor with whom Dolly Parton formerly collaborated on the holiday film Christmas on the Square, is remembered by the singer.
Williams passed away on June 12th at the age of 71 following a motorcycle accident.
Parton posts on Instagram, “I was very sad to hear that Treat Williams had passed away. I’ve always been a fan, and a few years ago I had the amazing experience of working with him on Christmas on the Square.”
The legendary singer-songwriter expressed sympathy to Williams’ friends and family as well. She says, “I’ve never known a kinder, sweeter, or more accomplished person in my life. I simply wanted his family to know that we would always remember the fantastic piece of work he left behind and to offer my sympathies.”
In addition to acting in the movie as the angel, Parton also composed all of the songs heard in Christmas on the Square. The story revolves around a rich woman named Regina Fuller who decides to move back to her hometown with the intention of selling the property to a mall developer and displacing the locals. In the film, Williams plays Carl Pellam, Regina’s previous love interest.
Williams was most known for his roles in Hair and Everwood. Barry McPherson, his longtime agent, confirmed his passing.
