Ashton Kutcher appeared in public for the first time on Monday after revealing he had been battling a rare autoimmune condition that had left him unable to hear, see, or move. Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher’s wife, supported him throughout the presentation.
The actor was smiling as he joined Mila at Ping Pong 4 Purpose, a charity event held at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, after admitting that he is “lucky to be alive” after being diagnosed with vasculitis.
The Mayo Clinic defines vasculitis as an inflammation of the blood arteries that may cause the walls to thicken and the artery’s passageway to narrow. The organs and tissues of the body may suffer if the blood flow is restricted.
In a sneak peek for a forthcoming episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge, Ashton talked about the debilitating symptoms he experienced as a direct result of his illness.
In the video posted by Access Hollywood, he said, “Like two years ago, I got this odd, very rare form of vasculitis, it like knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, and it knocked out like all my equilibrium.” I had a strange, extremely unusual form of vasculitis around two years ago, and it completely destroyed my hearing, vision, and hearing ability.
He said, “It took me about a year to build it all backup,” in reference to his terrifying experience with his health.
“It’s not until it’s gone that you realize how much you cherished it, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see properly again,” Ashton remarked. ” I am fortunate to be alive.”
“Ashton elaborated on his health issue on Twitter after his diagnosis was made public. There were a lot of rumors, chatter, or whatever you want to call it before this. Yes, I had a strange vasculitis episode three years ago. ” he had written.
“I immediately began experiencing issues with my hearing, eyesight, and balance after it happened. My normal self has returned in full. All is well. Moving ahead.”
