For many people, the relationship between siblings is one of the most enduring relationships they will ever have. These two siblings, sadly, were separated for three and a half years.

Tre and Ke’lynn spent the entire period in separate foster homes while under the care of child protective services. Once a month, the brothers got together, but all they wanted was to live together once more.

Unfortunately, Ke’lynn and Tre’s tale is not as unusual as it may seem. Many kids in foster care feel like they have lost a piece of themselves because they are separated from their siblings. The younger sibling, Tre, said in an interview, “I want to see him every day, but I don’t.”

One physician, Dr. Robert Beck, had a profound response to the siblings’ situation after their story touched people’s hearts all around the country. Dr. Beck told WFAA that she “felt an instant connection with the boys” and that she needed to find a way to bring them into her house so she could get to know them better.

Tre and Ke’lynn resided with Dr. Beck, but their adoption was still in the works. That changed one day when Ke’lynn and Tre were taken to the courthouse by Dr. Robert Beck.

The brothers initially believed they were at the courthouse to shoot pictures, but Dr. Beck had a surprise in store for them. Adoption Day fell on that day. Tre and Ke’lynn have discovered their forever home.

The brothers sobbed and embraced their new father after learning the news. “It’s just so special to be able to give them a forever home and know that they’ll always be mine,” said Dr. Beck. “I cherish them. with my entire heart.
