Allison Holker in memory of her late husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss.

In a statement announcing his death on December 14, the mother of three commented on the former DJ of the Ellen DeGeneres Show’s impact.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to notify my husband Stephen has left us,” Holker stated in a statement. “ Stephen brought light into every room he walked into. He valued his family, friends, and community above all else.”

“He believed that leading with love and light was the greatest way to go. He was the rock of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his followers.”

“It would be an understatement to say he left a legacy, and his positive influence will be remembered for a long time, she added. “I’m confident that there will never be a day when we don’t remember him. We respectfully seek your privacy during this difficult time for myself and our three children.”

“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you,” she said to her husband.

For years, fans have loved watching Boss make their homes happy. In 2003, he appeared on MTV’s The Wade Robson Project and Star Search. He came in second place on So You Think You Can Dance in 2008. Boss returned to the dance competition for the All-Star season in 2010, when he met fellow dancer Holker. In 2013, the couple married. They had three kids: Weslie, 14, Maddox, 6, and Zaia, 3.

Boss began working as a DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2014. In 2020, he was moved to co-executive producer, a position he held until the talk show’s termination in 2022, while also frequently filling in as host. He also appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ game show Ellen’s Game of Games.

Over the years, viewers have seen Boss in a number of TV and film roles, including his return to SYTYCD as a judge, cameos in shows such as Modern Family and Bones, and performances in films such as Magic Mike XXL and the Step Up series.

To give followers a glimpse inside their love, Boss and Holker frequently published small videos of themselves dancing together and posted images of their family on social media. Just four days before Boss died, the couple celebrated nine years of marriage, and both of them shared tributes on social media.

“Today is our tenth wedding anniversary!”  Holker posted on Instagram on December 10. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this great day!”

“One of the smartest decisions I’ve ever made was to say YES to @sir twitch a lot! Right now, I’m feeling incredibly grateful and appreciated! I love you, dear, and I will never take our connection for granted.”
