Lisa Marie Presley died this morning after only a few hours in the hospital after what was thought to be a heart attack, and tributes continue to pour in.
Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley, died Thursday evening.
Priscilla announced the heartbreaking news that her “lovely daughter Lisa Marie has left us” in a statement. “I must deliver the devastating news that my darling daughter Lisa Marie has left us with a sorrowful heart,” Priscilla stated.
“She was the most loving, passionate, and strong woman I have ever known. She is someone I will never forget. We humbly request privacy as we struggle to comprehend the gravity of this tragedy. I appreciate all of the well-wishes and prayers that have been sent my way. There will be no additional remarks made at this time.”
The musician, who has released three albums in her career, was admitted to the hospital on January 12th. On Thursday, emergency personnel was called to Lisa Marie’s home in Calabasas, California, for a possible heart attack. This occurred two days after she attended the 2023 Golden Globes with Priscilla and Elvis actor Austin Butler.
Linda Thompson, Elvis Presley’s ex-girlfriend, who had earlier indicated that she was “fervently praying” for Lisa Marie’s recovery, posted a childhood photo of the star with her father with the remark, “My heart is too heavy for words…”
A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said on Thursday that paramedics were sent to the 5900 block of Normandy Drive in Calabasas to help a woman in her fifties who was not breathing. At this moment, the woman’s name has not been disclosed. The paramedics began performing CPR on the patient as soon as they arrived. When they saw that the patient was showing “signs of life,” they transported her to a nearby hospital for “urgent medical care.”
The unit in question was dispatched to the scene in response to a report of a cardiac arrest.
In addition to being the only child of rock legend Elvis Presley, the singer is also the mother to 14-year-old twin children Finley Aaron Love and Harper Vivienne Anne, whom she shares with her ex-husband Michael Lockwood. Benjamin Keough, her 27-year-old son, committed suicide in the year 2020.
