Hilaria Baldwin is speaking out about her family’s troubles as prosecutors seek to charge her husband, Alec Baldwin, with involuntary manslaughter following the “Rust” movie set shooting.
Baldwin began the Sunday session of her “Witches Anonymous” podcast by being candid about her and her family’s feelings and thanking others for their support without going into specifics.
“It’s been difficult for my family,” Baldwin explained. “I want to say how appreciative I am for your help and kindness… To be honest, I believe we would crumble without it.”
On October 21, 2021, while filming a scene for “Rust” in Santa Fe, Alec Baldwin squeezed the trigger on a pretend gun, which murdered 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Joel Souza, the film’s director, was also shot and killed.
On January 19, the Santa Fe district attorney said the actor would face involuntary manslaughter charges by the end of the month. Baldwin faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
Hilaria Baldwin stated on her podcast that she doesn’t “feel that strong” now, mainly since she deals with these public situations while raising the seven children she and the actor share.
“Kids are sponges, and some conversations aren’t necessarily age-appropriate,” she explained. “We can’t dispute that they sense energy and notice certain things in the family and at home.”
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the film’s armorer, will also be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Assistant director David Halls handed the gun to Baldwin on set before it was discharged. According to prosecutors, Halls reached a plea deal that included a suspended sentence and six months of probation.
