Miranda Lambert received terrible news when she abruptly canceled her latest Las Vegas show.
The singer shared on her Instagram stories that her doctor had advised her to relax. Her message was heartfelt: “Hello y’all. I’ve been under a doctor’s care all day to see if things improved, but I’ve been put on vocal rest, and our shot has been canceled tonight.”
“I sincerely apologize to those fans who made plans to spend their Thursday night with us. I’m trying hard to improve for the Saturday and Sunday shows.”
“See you all soon, and thank you for understanding,” Miranda said. She then explained how people would be reimbursed for their tickets.
Miranda, dedicated to her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency, will be disappointed. Supporters who spotted the announcement on Twitter said, “Please get better soon,” and “this is terrible, but we understand. Get well soon.”
Miranda recently disclosed that she was ready for a new “adventure” after opting to cut ways with her record label, Sony, after 20 years.
The revelation was made all the more painful because it was made on the 18th anniversary of the release of her debut album, Kerosene. Miranda wrote in a collage of the magnificent artwork for nine of her albums, “Sony has been my home in Nashville since I was 19 years old.”
“During the last 20 years, we’ve created records that have allowed me to tell my narrative to the world, and we’ve achieved heights I never imagined were possible.”
“I’m very grateful for our time together and everything they made possible for me,” she continued, “but I wouldn’t be true to myself if I wasn’t always seeking the next challenge and a new opportunity to expand my imagination.”
“Considering this, I’ve decided to part ways with my Sony family. I can’t wait to see what the next adventure has in store for me.”
