Linda Thompson, who dated Elvis Presley from 1972 to 1976, just discovered a collection of Lisa Marie Presley’s childhood images.
Thompson, 72, uploaded images of the late musician as a child on Instagram.
“Like many of you, I was doing spring cleaning and discovered this photo album from back then. These are all Polaroids. Time stood still for a few moments as I looked through these lovely photos,” she said in her caption.
“Little ‘Yisa Marisa,’ as I fondly remember her, was a wonderful little girl! Pictured here, she was six years old and had just lost her two front teeth,” Thompson said, referring to the first three photographs in the Instagram carousel.
The third Polaroid photo in the post was taken in November 1974 and is titled “Snaggle Puss” – a reference to a young Lisa Marie who was missing two front teeth at the time.
“She wanted me to take some shots of her in my dressing room at the Monovale house. We had such a fantastic relationship for so many years. She’s still a part of my heart,” Thompson concluded.
A fourth image depicts a young Lisa Marie leaning on the shoulders of a woman named Dee while lounging on the top of a boat in Lake Tahoe in 1973.
Lisa Marie is shown in the fifth shot posing in pajamas with Thompson and several other women in front of a Christmas tree the same year.
“I don’t know how many of you are watching – or have binge-watched as I did – @daisyjonesandthesix starring Lisa Marie’s daughter @rileykeough….but if you haven’t, you must! It is great!!” Thompson remarked of Riley Keough, who stars in the Amazon Prime series Daisy Jones & the Six.
“There are so many intricacies in Riley’s facial expressions that remind me of her beautiful mom. Lisa’s stunning, formidable, forceful presence lives on in her exquisite and gifted daughter,” Thompson wrote.
Lisa Marie died on January 12th at the age of 54. Her mother, actress, and entrepreneur Priscilla Presley, 77, survives her, as do her three daughters, Riley and twins Finley and Harper Lockwood, 14; and her granddaughter. Lisa Marie was predeceased by her son Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide at 27 in 2020.
Thompson said that her death left her “extremely saddened and astonished.” “Lisa and I maintained in touch over the years, most recently by text; in fact, her final text to me was a simple ‘Love you Linda’ with a heart emoji.”
“I will be eternally thankful to the tiny nine-year-old Lisa Marie, who had the foresight to phone me from Graceland the terrible day her daddy died to tell me the news,” Thompson added.
“I was the first person she called, which spoke volumes about how close we were and how certain she was of my love for her daddy. If there is any solace to be found now, it’s in my knowing that Lisa Marie was certain I loved her and her daddy, without reservation and any agenda,” she continued.
