Lainey Wilson is preparing for a big night, as she has been nominated for four CMT Music Awards, which will be held in Austin, Texas, in 2023.
The country music singer, who just revealed some unexpected plans, has had an exceptionally successful year and, happily, has discovered a helpful network to draw on when she feels like she is having a “mental breakdown.”
Miranda Lambert is one of those in Lainey’s corner, with the ‘Heart Like a Truck’ singer opening out regarding their connection and showing Miranda’s true personality.
“Miranda is a good friend and a mentor to me,” Lainey explained.
“Miranda is one of the first persons to contact or text me if I have a mental breakdown.”
“If you ask me, ‘What do you do in this situation?’”
“‘Dude, I just want to cry’… it’s wonderful to have folks like that on your side, ” she said.
“Because this is a one-of-a-kind situation. Yet just a few people genuinely grasp positive and negative emotions.”
“So, I’m lucky to have those women in my life and individuals I’ve looked up to for years, and now they’re just some of my peers; it’s crazy.”
Lainey also addressed the misconception that the country music community is a friendly, tight-knit society, noting that the industry’s competitiveness can sometimes bring out some “rotten eggs.”
“Some of them are quite terrific actors,” she said.
“You can still sense there’s a competitive spirit there.”
“However, for the most part, when people know you’ve paid your dues and have been working your fingers to the bone for years, it’s almost as if they have no excuse not to cheer you on.”

She elaborated: “I will say that there are a lot of people who just move to town and get deals and pass you up left and right, but I believe that the ones they genuinely cheer for are the ones that started at the bottom.
“Everyone’s narrative is different and unique in their way, but for the most part, it’s a huge old family, and you’re going to have at least one or two rotten eggs, just like in your own families.”
The 2023 CMT Music Awards was broadcasted live from Austin, Texas’ Moody Center on CBS Television Network on Sunday, April 2.
