Yellowstone actress Lainey Wilson has expressed concern for her father after canceling two planned gigs due to a “family situation.”
The country singer first took to Instagram to write a mysterious post where she begged her followers to pray for her family. “I’m unable to play this weekend’s shows in Maquoketa, IA, and Arnold Park, IA, due to a family situation,” she said.
“I’m so sorry to cancel last minute, but please trust I would not be backing out if it wasn’t necessary. Please keep my family in your prayers.”
Lainey later uploaded a photo of herself and her father, Brian Wilson, showing that the emergency included her beloved father.
“My daddy. My cowboy. Please keep lifting him in prayer. Toughest man I know,” she tweeted, with one fan responding, “Praying praying praying praying praying praying praying praying!!!!!!!! In Jesus’ name.”
“Praying, love. Sending all the best wishes we have your way,” said another. “Praying for you and your precious family,” remarked a third.
Lainey has had a busy year, recently wrapping season five of the famous Western drama Yellowstone. Her casting was announced in June, but she won’t have to dig too deep to get into character for her new role on the program, where she will portray a musician named Abby.
Lainey sparked outrage among her fans earlier this month when she shared a behind-the-scenes shot of herself seated in a folding chair with the Yellowstone logo painted across the back.
She also shared a video on her Stories that showed viewers the real-life ranch that serves as the show’s set near Darby, Montana. Many of country music’s most prominent artists replied to the photo, including Carly Pearce, Callista Clark, and Brittney Spencer, who all expressed delight at Lainey’s new role.
Lainey isn’t the only newcomer to the fifth season of the Kevin Costner-led drama. As new recurring characters, American Horror Story’s Kai Caster, Your Honor’s Lilli Kay, and Dawn Olivieri – who also played Claire Dutton in the prequel series 1883 – will join the group.
