The “Today” weatherman Al Roker has made his first grandchild. Courtney Roker, his oldest daughter, and Wesley Laga, her husband, had their first child on Monday.
On Tuesday morning, a happy Al shared the wonderful and joyful news with his fellow “Today” co-hosts. He said that the mother and child are doing well and that the whole family is ecstatic about the adorable new addition to their family.
Wesley and Courtney wed in 2021, and they shared the pregnancy news in March of this year. Wesley teaches acting, and Courtney manages a test kitchen and develops recipes.
Al Roker’s daughter births her first child, making him a first-time grandpa.
After they tweeted the news, the “Today” team congratulated Al, his daughter, and her husband. It was stated in the Twitter video:
“Al Roker has grandchildren! Wesley and Courtney, his daughter, brought a girl into the world yesterday. Congrats to @alroker and his family!”
The baby girl’s name was revealed during “Today” co-host Hoda Kotb’s Morning Boost segment. The baby’s name is Sky Clara Laga. Reacting to the name, “Today” correspondent Sheinelle Jones gushed:
“That’s cute that his first grandchild’s name is Sky. How cute is that?”
Al’s coworkers not only expressed their congratulations and joy but also aired a previous film of him discussing how thrilled he was to be about to become a grandpa. Courtney, a first-time mother, expressed to “Today” her and Wesley’s joy at the birth of Sky.
She and her family are eager to start this new chapter, which will record an important turning point in their lives. They described their newborn as a miracle and said they felt tremendously blessed.
Al is more than prepared to assume his role as a grandfather, and his entire family is ecstatic to welcome baby Sky into their life. Congratulations to Courtney, Wesley, and Al on their wonderful new family member!
