Al Roker is providing an update to his followers while still undergoing medical treatment for ongoing health problems.
The 68-year-old weatherman for the Today show posted a picture of the dawn over the city on Thursday morning and informed his followers that he was hoped to leave the hospital soon.
He captioned the Instagram photo, “Hopefully returning home soon, but when your spirit sags a bit, you get to see that and refuel.” God bless you everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers for my family and I.
Many people left encouraging words for Roker in the hopes that he will heal fully and quickly.
One week after expressing gratitude on the Today show while hospitalized, Roker posted on social media.
The veteran television personality last made an appearance on the Nov. 4 broadcast, which was many weeks ago. He was initially admitted to the hospital for treatment of blood clots in his leg and lungs, released a few weeks later, and then admitted again the day after Thanksgiving.
In the process, Roker missed the traditional Christmas Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, his first in 27 years.
Considering the holiday lighting, Today co-anchor Hoda Kotb stated last week, “We certainly wish that Al could have been among us but owing to some issues, he is back in the hospital and he’s in very good care.” He is taking a nap, and his physicians are monitoring him carefully.
She added that she and Craig Melvin had FaceTimed Al Roker from the tree lighting, saying, “Al and his family want everyone to know how appreciative they are for all the love, the support, and the good wishes.” He gave us the thumbs up, and it was great to see Al.
Just one day after being released from the hospital, Roker returned there via ambulance.
Al was taken to the hospital in a hurry after Thanksgiving, a source told PEOPLE, adding that his wife, Deborah Roberts, was “locked out of her car and couldn’t get inside it” when the emergency transport occurred.
The insider claimed, “The car broke down.” She was unable to retrieve her possessions, including her phone.
Roker’s 24-year-old daughter Leila thanked her fans for their well wishes after her father was readmitted to the hospital due to health issues.
She posted a selfie and the message, “Thank you to all the great friends and family who have reached out,” on her Instagram Story. We are very grateful.
