Alan and Denise Jackson have a lot to be thankful for as they prepare to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. Not only did the couple celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary on Friday, December 15th, but they also welcomed their first grandchild two days earlier.
Alan and Denise were high school sweethearts who married on December 15, 1979, when Alan was 21 and Denise was 19. The couple split nearly two decades later, but they never divorced and eventually reconciled – they’ve been living happily ever after.
They have three daughters: Mattie Denise Selecman (born in 1990), Alexandra Jane “Ali” (born in 1993), and Dani Grace (born in 1997). Ali is the middle child. However, she is the first of her siblings to give birth as Denise and Alan become grandparents.
Alan Jackson celebrated the joyful news on Instagram, posting photos of him and his wife cradling the child. The two were seated on a couch, the infant in Denise’s arms, surrounded by Alan in his famous Cowboy hat. The new ‘grandparent glow’ was palpable.
“Denise and I are marking our 43rd wedding anniversary with our new grandson Jackson Alvie Bradshaw. On December 13, 2022, Ali and Sam welcomed Jack into the world. “I’m overjoyed that this little guy has made us grandparents!” Alan wrote in the caption. They’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time.
Just a few hours earlier, Alan shared another photo of himself and his wife, marking their 43-year marriage. “Everyone, please wish Alan and Denise a Happy Anniversary!” the singer said in the caption, as hundreds of fans commented to wish them a lovely day.
The news also comes roughly three weeks after Alan Jackson posted a photo of his family in front of his massive fireplace – a photo that featured Ali’s baby bump, which is now gone. Alan was photographed beside his wife, three daughters, and their three significant others. Oh, and their two dogs were also present.
Alan Jackson has had an illustrious 40-year career in the music industry, with 16 studio albums, three ‘Greatest Hits’ albums, two gospel albums, and two Christmas albums to his credit. Few artists can match his 75 million record sales globally, 44 million of which were in the United States.
That’s why Alan Jackson received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Country Music Awards, which Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan presented. It is given to “an iconic performer who has achieved the highest level of recognition in Country Music.”
“Throughout my career, I’ve had a terrific team of songwriters who have supported me. I’ve been extremely blessed to have had all of that to assist me in getting this far. I can’t thank everybody who’s been in my life all these years, but I have to say thanks to my wife Denise, over there somewhere,” he said in his speech.
Jackson has been inducted into three Hall of Fames over the past 20 years – the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2001, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018, and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019. “I’ve lived the American dream,” he continued, adding that he’s still living that dream.
