As a legendary singer, songwriter, dancer, and entertainer, Michael Jackson left a lasting influence on the globe; he fully merited the title “The King of Pop.”
But MJ was also a family man, and before his terrible passing 11 years ago, he had three children with two different women during his career.
In 2020, Bigi Jackson, his youngest son, will be 18. He’s been rather active lately on several social media networks.
Now, it’s impossible to miss the resemblance between Michael’s third child and the well-known pop icon when viewing recent photos of the child.
The tabloids frequently published articles on Michael Jackson’s personal life, marriages, and offspring until his passing. There was a lot of curiosity because Michael had three children with two separate women.
In addition to speculating about who each child’s true mother was, the media frequently questioned whether or not Michael Jackson was the biological father of those children.
When you consider Michael’s past relationships, it may not seem so weird that the media was interested in discovering more.
In 1974, Michael Jackson first dated Lisa Marie Presley. When he first met Lisa, he was only 16 years old, and it was none other than Elvis Presley introduced them to a hotel in Las Vegas.
At the time, Lisa was six years old and a tremendous fan of the Jackson 5. Particularly, she adored the young vocalist.
The pair would, however, not reunite until 18 years later, at a dinner held by the artist Brett-Livingstone Strong. Soon after, the couple developed a close bond and began talking on the phone daily.
Michael and Lisa shared a complex relationship with the “real” world, which was one of their many similarities. They had both grown up in an extremely protected environment because they had both been famous since they were young.
Lisa was still legally wed to actor Danny Keough, with whom she had two children when she met Michael. However, a particular bond formed between Michael and Lisa, and one day, when they were on the phone, Michael enquired: “If I asked you to marry me, would you do it?”
Lisa agreed and later divorced Danny. Michael and Lisa wed just 20 days after the divorce was declared final. In 1994, the pair exchanged vows during a wedding in the Dominican Republic. Do not undervalue the significance of this mega-celebrity wedding; one tabloid dubbed it “The Marriage of the Century.”
But their marriage quickly descended into extreme chaos. With her spouse, Lisa Marie declined to have children. She didn’t see a future with the American musician since she believed he was too young to be a father.
Lisa claimed that Michael had issues with his adult relationships and was frequently “childish” and acting childishly. On the other hand, Michael reportedly had a strong desire to become a father. He allegedly told Lisa that she was not obligated to carry his children if she chose not to.
“Debbie [Rowe], a friend of mine, stated she would become pregnant and give birth to my child. If you don’t do it, she will if you don’t. What do you say? According to J. Randy Taraborrelli’s “Michael Jackson: The Magic and the Madness” book, Michael told her.
According to reports, Lisa stated she was fine with that. Despite divorcing in 1996, the pair dated intermittently for another four years.
Another woman was always present throughout his marriage to Lisa Presley: Debbie Rowe.
Debbie and Michael go way back. They first connected when Debbie was a dermatologist’s assistant for the pop star in the middle of the 1980s. For many years, Debbie assisted Michael in managing his chronic vitiligo skin condition.
The two developed close friendships that eventually led to anything more.
Two of Michael and Debbie Jackson’s three children were later born after their 1996 wedding. Debbie delivered Michael Joseph “Prince” Jackson, Jr. in 1997. Paris Michael Katherine Jackson debuted a year later.
Parenting was handled in a fairly peculiar way by Michael and Debbie.
Debbie was more of a substitute mother because Michael preferred raising the kids at the Neverland Ranch alone. Debbie didn’t want to become very attached to her children, so she sometimes visited them.
“I don’t want my kids to call me Mom, therefore, they don’t. They belong to Michael. Not because they are not my children, but because I wanted him to be a parent, I had them. I can’t believe she left her children, people say. removed them? Leaving my kids behind? I didn’t abandon my kids. My kids are with their father, where they should be, as they should be. I did not do it to become a mother… I would have five more children right away if he called me tonight and said, “Let’s have five more,” Debbie stated in an interview with English journalist Martin Bashir.
But it’s clear that this “deal” cost her something.
Debbie eventually filed for divorce in 1999, making her discontent with the arrangement abundantly plain. Debbie granted Michael complete custody of her kids as part of their divorce. However, the pair stayed friends.
Michael Jackson’s third kid was born in February 2002. Although he was given the name Prince Michael Jackson II, the nickname “Blanket” immediately spread among the populace. The moniker “Prince” stems from the fact that he constantly wore a blanket over his face when in public.
But Michael said there was something lovely about the strange nickname.
He once observed, “A blanket is a blessing, a way of showing loving and caring.”
When Michael held him over a fourth-floor balcony railing at a hotel in Berlin, the nickname “Blanket” became well-known worldwide. Many individuals expressed dismay and said that Michael was endangering his unborn child. Later, MJ would regret the incident and claim he had become overexcited.
Michael’s third child’s mother is still a mystery. Although Debbie Rowe has categorically denied it, there have been rumors that she is Prince Michael II’s biological mother. Michael himself stated that the child was born through artificial insemination and that he was unaware of the mother.
“Blanket” declared in 2015 that he preferred “Bigi” instead. It was a significant step for him because, according to the news, Bigi had endured years of bullying because of his nickname.
Bigi lost his father in June 2009 when he was only seven. At 50, the King of Pop experienced a heart attack and passed unexpectedly at home.
Katherine Jackson raised Bigi, Michael Jackson’s mother, following the terrible loss of his father. TJ Jackson, a nephew of Jackson, additionally intervened to help the family and the kids.
Bigi grieved for his father deeply and found it difficult to accept Michael’s passing. Some accounts claim that Bigi briefly ceased speaking.
But as for now, Bigi looks to be doing fine.
Now residing in Calabasas, California, is Bigi Jackson. He reportedly lives in a house in a posh gated community, where some of his neighbors include famous people like Dr. Dre and John Travolta.
The 18-year-old student is concentrating on his studies at Sherman Oaks, California’s Buckley School. He enjoys spending time with his many cousins and practicing karate.
Bigi is now under the care of his older cousin, T.J. Jackson, while his grandmother Katherine, who will turn 91 soon, is now in charge.
Bigi has often made an effort to avoid the spotlight. However, he occasionally attends public gatherings. For instance, he might have been present when his older brother Prince received his degree from Loyola Marymount University in May 2019.
Along with his brother Prince Jackson, Bigi has established a YouTube channel. The brothers collectively analyze numerous movies on the channel “Film Family.” The channel now has 35,000 subscribers, although few clips are available. So maybe Gigi will appear more frequently in the future?
In my opinion, Bigi acquired a lot of his father’s good looks as they resemble one another in many aspects.
It’s impossible to look at Bigi and not think of Michael because of his beautiful black curls. The boy also appears to have inherited his father’s passion for comic books and superheroes; Bigi is frequently spotted sporting t-shirts featuring members of Marvel’s Avengers.
We already know how difficult it may be for a child to have renowned parents. Bigi is most likely not an exception. Remember that he had to endure a tough grieving process in front of the cameras of the entire world.
From what we know, though, Bigi appears content with his life and behaves normally, as most teenagers do, which is a good sign.
Whatever course Bigi decides to follow, let’s hope it stays this way.
