Cher is one of the few people on the planet who can get away with only using their first name. Have you ever wondered where she acquired her amazing singing voice and dominating stage presence, given that she is definitely a successful singer? Her mother had given it to her.
Cher’s mother, Georgia Holt, was born in the state of Arkansas in 1926. She performed in a number of films and television episodes during the 1950s, including “I Love Lucy” and “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.”
She also recorded an album called “Honky Tonk Woman” with the same musicians who played with Elvis Presley in 1980, but she didn’t release it until 2013, despite the fact that it was recorded at the time.
Cher also took part in the production of the documentary “Dear Mom, Love Cher” in 2013, which was about her connection with her mother. The documentary, which aired on Lifetime, detailed the story of Holt’s life from childhood until she became a mother.
Holt has recently been dealing with some health concerns. Cher stated on her Instagram account in September that her mother had been “sick off and on” and was battling pneumonia.

Cher made no mention of the reason for her death in her statement. Her mother had lived to be 96 years old.

“Oh @cher,” said actress Marg Helgenberger in a tweet. “I was astonished and profoundly grieved to learn of your beloved mother’s death. My thoughts and prayers are with you. What a lovely gift it must have been to have her in your life for such a long time! We hope she finds eternal peace.”
