Elon Musk, widely known as the world’s richest man, seems to be taking steps to create a closer-knit family environment. Reports have surfaced that he’s planning a colossal 14,400-square-foot mansion aimed at bringing his large family together. This ambitious plan seeks to ensure his 11 children, along with two of their three mothers, reside close by, fostering a shared upbringing and strengthening familial connections with Musk himself.

Recently, international media outlets reported that the prominent entrepreneur, Elon Musk, is keen on arranging for his children and their mothers to cohabit in a unique residential setup. This visionary idea reflects Musk’s desire to consolidate his family life.

The multi-faceted owner of Tesla and SpaceX shares his fatherhood across eleven children from three different women. As per the New York Times, last week highlighted Musk’s intentions of relocating his family into three adjacent mansions located in Austin, Texas.

However, his current partner, the musical artist Claire Boucher, known popularly as Grimes, with whom Musk shares three children, has not seen eye-to-eye with this proposition. According to People magazine, tensions surged as Boucher expressed a conflicting desire for an additional mansion, possibly in Los Angeles, for accommodating all of Musk’s former partners and their offspring, as further reported by The Bytes.

A compound of this scale doesn’t come without a hefty price tag. Estimated around $35 million, it boasts multiple properties, including a six-bedroom mansion just a stone’s throw—a mere ten-minute walk—from the principal villa where Musk frequently resides.

Let’s delve into the personal side: Justine Musk, Musk’s first wife, is the mother of six of his children. Their first-born, Nevada, sadly died as an infant, followed by the birth of twins Griffin and Vivian, and triplets Saxon, Damian, and Kai. Then comes Talulah Riley, the actress who married—and subsequently divorced—Musk twice; their relationship foundered as she prioritized her acting career. In 2020, Musk and Claire Boucher (Grimes) welcomed their first child, the unusually named X Æ A-Xii, with the family eventually expanding. Then there’s Shivon Zilis, with whom Musk also shares children; both presently reside in Austin, where they are occasionally seen at local events. Musk confirmed in June 2023 that they share a third child.

The grand plans for a family compound near Austin originally encompassed a vast tract of land, beautifully situated near Tesla’s bustling headquarters. Yet this venture encountered problems when the U.S. Justice Department initiated inquiries concerning whether Tesla’s resources had been misallocated to craft a luxurious glass house for Musk’s exclusive enjoyment.

Musk publicly dismissed these rumors in August 2023 but persisted in exploring Austin’s real estate options to accommodate his burgeoning family. Until recently, he cohabitated with Boucher in a spacious 6,900-square-foot home before she vacated in mid-2023 amid a custody disagreement.

As for the familial dynamics and future living situations, it remains uncertain which of Musk’s kin will eventually call the new compound home. Notably, some of his older children, including daughter Vivian, are reportedly somewhat estranged. Vivian, who identifies as transgender, has openly criticized Musk, casting doubt on the “family man” image Musk strives to portray.
