In a video posted on Friday, German actor Eric Braeden revealed openly that he has cancer and is presently receiving immunotherapy.
Late last week, the 82-year-old participated in a Facebook Live session and disclosed that he had encountered prostate problems while healing from knee replacement surgery.
A doctor then diagnosed him after discovering high-grade cancer cells close to his bladder.
The actor stated, “I’m sorry to be so frank, but I think this may be good for some older guys who may or may not listen to this.”
Before having an UroLift treatment, Braeden, who received an Emmy for playing Victor Newman on the venerable CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, experienced prostate issues.
The cancer cells were discovered, though, and he underwent surgery to remove them before beginning a six-week immunotherapy regimen.
The 82-year-old was open with his admirers about his condition and pleaded for them to be there for loved ones in a similar situation.
Braeden remarked, “I’ve learned to listen to my body more and not go all out.”
“So if you’ve noticed that I’ve been feeling a little under the weather, I have, but I’ll lick this. This idiot is not going to succeed in getting me; I will. I’ll soon be back to my best.”
“So that’s where I am now,” the actor said. “I enjoy acting. I am a people-pleaser. I appreciate your help. So, whenever a family member experiences this, be there for them. It might pan out. You can survive cancer thanks to modern cancer treatments’ incredible advancements.”
Braeden is anticipating returning to his regular role on The Young and the Restless, which he has held since 1980.
“I’m still glad I can go to work,” he stated.
“It makes me dizzy. I enjoy acting. I want that I can amuse folks. And yes, I appreciate your help. It is significant.”
Let’s all wish Eric Braeden nothing but the best in the future. I hope for a day when cancer is eradicated from the planet.
