Everyone is saying the same thing about Lady Gaga’s Oscars performance without makeup.

It would be an understatement to say that the Oscars have generated their fair share of unforgettable moments. Fireworks are unavoidable when famous people and public personalities meet in Los Angeles for a special event.

Even so, part of the fun is waiting to see what happens. Consider Will Smith’s slap on Chris Rock last year, which was shown worldwide.

Or how about the blunder that delayed the La La Land creators from finishing their Best Picture acceptance speech before it became clear that Moonlight, not La La Land, had won?

The fact that there was no such calamity this year fills us with joy and disappointment (at least not on that scale). Nonetheless, other situations sparked a lively debate among family members.

Lady Gaga’s song “Hold My Hand,” which she created for Top Gun: Maverick, was nominated for Best Original Song on one occasion.

According to insiders, Lady Gaga’s appearance at the event was not assured in advance. She’s been hard at work on The Joker sequel but made time to visit Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, 36, arrived at the Dolby Theatre for the Oscars red carpet wearing a Versace gown accentuated with dramatic red lipstick and smoky eyeliner.

Yet the Born This Way singer’s change of dress drew the attention of many home watchers.

Just before singing “Hold My Hand,” Gaga delivered a passionate monologue in which she stated:

“It’s very personal to me. I believe that we all require one another. To go through this life, we need a lot of love. We all need a hero occasionally, and heroes can be found in unexpected places. Nevertheless, even if you’re shattered inside, you can discover you can be your own hero.”

Lady Gaga delivered her song in a poignant performance without makeup. She also changed out of the Versace gown and into a black T-shirt, ripped jeans, and Converse.

Fans had a lot to say, and they did comment.

Gaga received her fourth Oscar nomination for “Hold My Hand,” following two previous nods for Best Original Song (2016 and 2019) – which she won in 2019 with “Shallow” – and one for Best Actress (2019).

However, she returned home empty-handed from the Academy Awards. This year’s Best Original Song award went to “Naatu Naatu” from the film RRR.

I’m glad Lady Gaga, an outstanding performer, felt completely comfortable performing without makeup on stage.
