Suppose you’re a regular watcher of the Today show. In that case, you’ve undoubtedly noticed that co-host Hoda Kotb has been missing from the morning program for almost two weeks without providing any justification.
Her coworkers explained her absence.
“We know many of you have been curious about Hoda’s well-being. We can confirm that Hoda is well. Craig Melvin stated that she has been coping with a family health issue on Wednesday morning.
Although she did make an appearance on a pre-recorded Today with Hoda and Jenna program that aired on February 20, President’s Day, Kotb, 58, made her final live appearance on Today on February 17.
Since then, nobody has explained—not even Kotb—for her abrupt absence. She left no trace, leaving fans to wonder where she went and what she got up to.
The co-host of the Today show has continued to post motivational words on Instagram during her time off. Her most recent song is “Choose Hope.”
Some others questioned whether Kotb was adopting yet another child.
She previously took a break, and she teased the adoption in the days before the big revelation.
Melvin spoke briefly about Kotb’s nearly two-week absence and Savannah Guthrie’s sudden departure from Tuesday’s program (she tested positive for COVID).
“We noted that Hoda and Savannah are both absent. After a positive COVID test yesterday, Savannah is now at home. We are hoping for a quick recovery for our friend,” he stated.
And speaking of Hoda, we realize that many of you have been curious about how she is doing. We can confirm that Hoda is well. We anticipate seeing Hoda and Savannah back at the desk very soon because she has been occupied with a family health issue.
Al Roker added, “We love you both.”
For Today with Hoda and Jenna, Jenna Bush Hager and Willie Geist informed the audience that they had heard all the worries and wanted to reassure them that Hoda was fine.
She is merely coping with a family health issue.
I hope everything Hoda is going through works out well. I hope she is aware of the innumerable people who are currently praying for her and her family.
