Two years ago, a Minnesota family went through a situation that permanently changed their life. They brought home Joy, a beautiful pit bull, from a local animal shelter.

All of the family members got along well with him, especially with their two children, Emilly and Jonas. They played all day, went on walks, and slept in the same bed at night.

Jonas told his family one evening that he would take a bath before he even arrived home. The rest of the family remained in the backyard. The child’s mother initially heard some strange noises.

She heard Joy barking as she climbed the stairs. She learned that the sounds were coming from upstairs after entering the home. She entered the bathroom and discovered Jonas lying on the side of the bathtub, his feet hanging over the edge. To liberate him, Joy was pulling on his hands and hair.

After suffering a heart attack, Jonas collapsed in the bathtub. Joy could force the bathroom door open and hurried inside to try to take Jonas out of the water after sensing something wasn’t right.

She was scared when the mother first noticed Jonas gasping for air and Joy pulling on him. However, she soon realized that the dog was merely trying to save his life by keeping him from drowning in the bathtub.

After being transported to the hospital, Jonas received the emergency needed attention. Thanks to Joy, Jonas is still alive today after the doctors were able to save his life.

The mother of Jonas said she didn’t want to think about what would have happened to her son if Joy hadn’t been there. She thanked Joy and assured him he would receive several steaks in return.
