Julia Roberts is perhaps one of the most well-known actors in the world. Her films dominated the box office during the 1990s, and she is still significant in Hollywood today.
Nonetheless, she had a few hiccups in her personal life before discovering the partner she considered to be “the one.”
Julia Roberts regularly portrayed people who were apprehensive or afraid of marriage. She battled to find love, similar to her prominent role in Runaway Bride, and was even engaged to several famous actors before biting the bullet and finding love. The actress has previously broken up with Kiefer Sutherland and Liam Neeson.
In 1987, she was linked to Liam Neeson, but their relationship ended a year later. Following that, she began seeing Dylan McDermott and became engaged to him.
This, too, failed, prompting her to start dating Keifer Sutherland. But she ended her relationship with Keifer a few years later.
After two broken engagements, Roberts surprised everyone by marrying Lyle Lovett in 1993. The marriage, however, did not last, and the couple divorced in 1995. Following that, the actress began dating several Hollywood actors while working on the sets of The Mexican.
Moder was not as well-known as her prior partners but appeared indifferent. Nevertheless, there was one problem.
Moder was still married to his first wife, Vera Steimberg when he met Roberts. His marriage, however, terminated soon after, and he went on to enjoy an excellent relationship with Roberts.
The couple exchanged vows in 2002. They also welcomed twins Phinnaeus and Hazel and their son Henry during their more than 20-year marriage.
While Roberts is usually discreet about her personal life, she discussed Moder with Gwyneth Paltrow on the GOOP podcast in 2018. “I suppose the first real seismic shift’ was meeting Danny, marrying Danny… that was the first life will never be the same in the most beautiful, indescribable way,” she remarked.
She expressed her love and appreciation for her spouse, saying, “He honestly, to this day, to this minute, is just my favorite person… I’m more interested in what he has to say or his point of view than anyone else. We’re truly blessed in that regard. We like each other and enjoy each other’s company,”
She went on to describe their feelings for one another. “We’ve been married for 16 years; we’ve been together for 18,” she explained. “It just gets more profound and more complicated.”
She also stated that marriage is a gamble, and you never know if it will work until you are in it. “…you’re young, and you fall in love and go, ‘Yeah, we’re going to get married and build a house and have kids,’ and all these things that we all kind of dream of, but you don’t know if you’re going to like the same couch and you don’t know if he’s going to want to get patterned towels,” she explained.
“You simply don’t know these things until you’re right there doing it, and we’re so lucky that there’s some kind of some explainable harmony to the way we do things,” the actress remarked, adding, “He’s the best decision I’ve ever made.”
An insider revealed details regarding the couple’s relationship in 2020. They said, “[Roberts and Moder] feel like soulmates,” further adding, “The chemistry between them is vital. After all these years, Julia still finds Danny extraordinarily hot, and he still adores her.”
“We’re dedicated to remaining together for the long run, whatever it takes,” the couple concluded.
