Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley’s only child and a singer-songwriter died on Thursday after a medical emergency and a brief hospitalization.
In a statement, Priscilla Presley’s spokeswoman said, “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are stunned and grieved by the sudden departure of their precious Lisa Marie.” “They plead for privacy during this tremendously tough time and are sincerely grateful for everyone’s support, love, and prayers.”
Priscilla Presley announced earlier that her daughter was receiving medical treatment but did not disclose any other specifics.
Ms. Presley, the daughter of one of history’s most famous performers, followed in the footsteps of her father, Elvis Presley. She released three albums in which she attempted to create her rock sound while paying tribute to the man who fused blues, gospel, pop, and country to forever transform the American musical landscape.
Her father’s amazing heritage was with her her entire life. She praised him once more at the Golden Globes on Tuesday, telling Extra TV that Austin Butler, who won the lead acting medal for drama for his work in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic “Elvis,” had perfectly captured her father’s persona.
“I was mind-blown, truly,” Ms. Presley, who was nine years old when her father died in 1977, said. “It took me approximately five days to process it since it was so accurate and genuine.”
On Thursday night, the Golden Globes issued the following statement on Twitter: “We are extremely saddened to learn about Lisa Marie Presley’s passing. She was a talented singer and songwriter who received a standing ovation at the Golden Globes on Tuesday. Rest in peace.”
Leah Remini had similar sentiments, tweeting, “I’m devastated by Lisa Marie Presley’s death. Lisa’s life was not easy, contrary to popular notions. She is now at peace with her father and son. My heartfelt condolences to her mother, Priscilla, and her three daughters, Riley, Finley, and Harper.”
According to the Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Ms. Presley was to Graceland on Sunday to commemorate her father’s 88th birthday.
Elvis and his daughter were quite close, and Elvis once took the kid to Idaho when she complained that she had never seen snow. The nickname “The Lisa Marie” was given to her father’s 1958 Convair 880 private jet by her father.
Ms. Presley owned both Graceland and her father’s stuff. She also had a 15% share in Elvis Presley Enterprises.
But, unlike her father, who rose to popularity quickly in music, she never did. His impact, though, can be seen in some of her phrases and songs. “Someone turned the lights out there in Memphis,” she sings in the bluesy, melancholy song “Lights Out” from her debut album “To Whom It May Concern,” from 2003.
In 2018, she co-produced an album celebrating Elvis Presley’s love of gospel music, and she sang alongside a recording of him on one of the songs.
“I was moved by it as I was singing,” she said in an interview.
She was still famous due to her surname. Her connections to A-listers further added to that impression.
From 1994 until 1996, she was married to Michael Jackson. The duo attracted a lot of attention and cameras since one was the daughter of the king of rock ‘n’ roll, and the other was renowned as the king of pop. She married actor Nicolas Cage in 2002, although the marriage was just four months long.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated early Thursday that it responded to a call about a lady in Calabasas, California, who was “not breathing,” but it did not comment on the person’s condition. Ms. Presley’s representative, Roger Widynowski, could not comment on Thursday night.
According to the authorities, when the deputies arrived, the paramedics performed CPR and assessed the patient’s health. “They discovered the woman was breathing and immediately transported her to a neighboring hospital for further medical assistance.” Her death was announced within hours.
In the foreword to the book “The United States of Opioids: A Prescription for Liberating a Nation in Pain,” Ms. Presley detailed her fight with addiction.
Ms. Presley stated in a People magazine essay published in 2022 that her life had been plagued with death, pain, and loss since she was a child. She further claimed that Mr. Keough’s death had devastated her and her three daughters.
