Former Scientologist and actress Leah Remini revealed last fall that her only child, Sofia Bella Pagan, had just started school. Unfortunately, the “King of Queens” actor found this feat extremely difficult.
“Bringing our only child to school for the first time has been the most agonizingly difficult and proudest event of my life,” Remini wrote on Instagram. “I’ve never cried so much in my life. It was the most difficult thing I have ever done, and I still torture myself with the thought that I may have pushed my daughter to attend college when I was too old.” Remini said she and her husband did not want to raise their children alone.
Remini expressed a similar sentiment after Pagan attended her senior prom earlier in the year.
“The senior year is full of great accomplishments, but for parents, wondering how time flew by doesn’t make it any less sad.”
“Angelo and I are very proud of the woman Sofia is becoming. But I need to pause this process.” Because of Pagan’s recent decisions, Remini no longer has that option, which makes her sad.
So, first and foremost, the good news. Leah Remini did get to spend more time with Sofia Bella Pagan. As Remini revealed in a recent Instagram post, Pagan decided to return home after struggling to fit in at the school she had chosen, giving her and her husband “a few more months to have her home.”
Pagan, on the other hand, has decided to go back to college. “We moved her into an apartment a few weeks ago when she started classes at another University,” Remini explained. “Even though you’d think the second time around would be easier, Angelo and I are currently in a worse state.”
The “Second Act” star also revealed that she and her husband are “going through what parents like us go through” as Pagan deals with first-year student concerns. “We’re crying and don’t know what to do except cry some more while looking at photos and videos.”
Remini is fortunate to have a strong support system around her. In addition to her husband, she can rely on her sister. After Pagan took her first swing at college, Remini’s sister decorated her dorm room. Remini shared this on Instagram:
“My sister, @nicole b remini, flew up from Arizona to assist me with relocating my child to college.” “I can’t tell you how much this means to me that my sister did this for her niece and me,” she said.
