Families rarely appreciate films about their deceased loved ones, but Lisa Marie was blown away by the realism and Austin Butler’s portrayal of her father, Elvis.

Presley, the only child of music legend Elvis Presley, died on January 12, barely hours after it was reported that Lisa Marie Presley had fainted due to a medical emergency.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must deliver the devastating news that my darling daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother Priscilla revealed Thursday evening in a statement posted with People.

“She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I’d ever met. We want privacy as we attempt to cope with this tragic loss. Thank you for your support and prayers. There will be no additional remark at this time.”

According to sources earlier, Lisa Marie Presley had a medical issue on January 12. Those familiar with the issue informed TMZ that they believe she went into cardiac arrest.

Elvis’ daughter “went into full arrest,” according to TMZ. Before chest compression began, first responders administered epinephrine at the scene. Presley had collapsed in her Calabasas home.

It is believed that first responders could reestablish her pulse before transporting her to a neighboring hospital.

Presley was last seen in public with her mother, Priscilla Presley, and Austin Butler, who played her father in the film Elvia. The trio attended the Golden Globe Awards on January 10.

Presley, like her father, is a singer and songwriter. She also owns Graceland, her father’s cherished Memphis estate. She is also the mother of three children, including actor Riley Keough and Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in 2020.
