“I miss you and think of you often,” John Candy’s son Christopher Candy posted on the 29th anniversary of his father’s death, along with a throwback photo of the Uncle Buck icon.
Nearly three decades after his death, John Candy’s legacy lives on.
On the 29th anniversary of their father’s passing, his son Christopher and daughter Jennifer paid tribute to him by sharing a throwback photo of the Uncle Buck star.
“Today, I’m sending my love to my father. You embarked on a new adventure 29 years ago, “Chris, 38, stated in the caption. “I miss you and think about you frequently. I still think of you regularly. Losing is never easy, but I can optimistically state that it is one of life’s greatest teachers.”

In March 1994, while filming Wagons East in Durango, Mexico, John Candy died of a heart attack at 43. His son Christopher, daughter Jennifer, and wife Rosemary survive him.
Candy, a veteran of Canada’s Second City improv comedy club, rose to prominence in the 1980s with films such as Stripes (1981), National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983), Spaceballs (1987), and Uncle Buck (1988).
“The Candy family is providing Maximum Effort with access to his archive and home video footage,” a Reynolds representative stated.
Candy began trending on Twitter ahead of the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles 4K re-release, prompting Reynolds, 46, to make the statement.
“With John Candy trending, I’ll simply say I love him,” Reynolds said of his fellow Canadian national treasure on Twitter. “So much so that @maximumeffort is collaborating with @colinhanks on a documentary on his life. Expect to cry.”
Christopher quoted Reynolds’ announcement on Twitter, stating, “This is all true.”

Maximum Effort tweeted about the news, sharing one of Candy’s lines from 1987’s Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. “Do you want to hurt me? If it makes you feel better, go ahead and do it. I’m an easy mark, “The tweet stated.
