Robert Altman, Lynda Carter’s husband of 37 years, died in February of blood cancer.
Lynda Carter is sharing her grief to console other bereaved families.
Carter, 70, discussed how she is coping with sadness following the death of her husband, Robert Altman, with Tamron Hall.
“I probably cry three times a day, in the morning and other times when I think about him,” claimed the actress who played the original Wonder Woman on television.
Altman died of myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer, in February. He had been married to Carter for 37 years.
Iman, 66, also participated in the broadcast to discuss the loss of her husband, David Bowie, and how Bowie lives on via memories.
“There are certain days that are more difficult than others, but it’s the memories that we have that will sustain us for the rest of our life when the person who, you know, leaves us and goes away, but it’s to hold on to those memories,” Iman added.
“Iman gives me hope that all these memories will not make me cry,” Carter said.
Carter also acknowledged the many others who have lost loved ones, particularly during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, saying, “Many tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of people and families have experienced what my family and I have experienced this past year-plus, with the loss of our loved ones, illnesses, and long haulers, it’s been a devastating time for us.”
“So, I feel like I need to pick myself up, dust myself off, put one foot in front of the other, and be as courageous as I can be even when I don’t feel like it to get through mourning,” she concluded.
The actress recently opened up about her beloved husband’s death in October, saying, “My next goal is to discover who I am. It’s quite disturbing. I’m not sure who I am without Robert.”
Carter added, sobbing, “That still affects me. I can’t believe I’ve let him go.”
