Our lives get better when we read about kind people who care about other people. Even if it seems that people’s capacity for empathy is decreasing, there are still those people who are always ready to be of assistance.
Everyone was confused and shocked by what occurred on the freeway, underneath a bridge on Interstate 696 in Huntington Woods, Michigan.
Traffic on this route caused delays for motorists, but when they saw why 13 trailer trucks were parked side by side and blocking the road without moving an inch, they knew it had been worth the wait.
The truck drivers came to help after State Trooper Michael Shaw received a report about a person who was ready to commit suicide by jumping from the bridge. Brilliant Shaw quickly had a great idea, but he needed some help to make it happen, so he hurried to summon a traffic officer and asked him to redirect the traffic.
All of the truckers were more than happy to help.
If officials and experts failed to convince the guy to change his mind, the trucks parked beneath the bridge covered the whole area beneath it, preventing him from plunging directly to the ground and so preventing serious injury.
The man was taken off the bridge after four hours and received psychiatric support, so the story did have a good ending.
The truck drivers were always happy to help, even if it meant waiting a while.
We are happy that there are still kindhearted people in the world.
