In a statement announcing his plans to release “Spare,” Harry said he wanted to share his story to show others “that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”

A strong storm in California forced thousands of Montecito residents, including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to flee their homes. According to the BBC, the Montecito Fire Department issued an order to immediately evacuate the area and its surrounding valleys on January 9 in the late afternoon due to severe rains and flooding.
Those unable to flee were sent to a high area or their innermost room. According to Fox Weather, the warning comes on the fifth anniversary of the terrible mudslides in Montecito in 2018, which resulted in 23 deaths, 167 injuries, and the destruction of hundreds of homes.
Ellen DeGeneres, a well-known television personality, posted a video of the region’s catastrophic floods on Instagram. She stated that the entire town of Montecito was being evacuated. “Five years ago today, the fires and mudslides that killed many people and destroyed many homes and lives occurred. This is ridiculous.”
After quitting their positions as senior royals in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan moved into a $14 million Montecito home with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
