Rumer Willis showed her support for her father Bruce after it was disclosed earlier this year that the Hollywood legend would be “stepping away” from his profession due to his health.
According to a statement given by Bruce’s family on Wednesday, the actor, 67, was diagnosed with the medical ailment aphasia, which has impaired his cognitive abilities.
Bruce’s daughter Rumer, 33, posted a throwback photo from her childhood on Instagram on Friday, gushing about how much she loved her “Daddio to the moon and back.”
Rumer posted a photo of herself making a goofy face with her father, her sister Scout, 30, and herself on social media, thanking her father for “teaching me to be foolish.”
Rumer, Bruce and Demi Moore, wrote: “Daddio, you have my love. I appreciate you teaching me how to laugh at myself. I adore laughing with you.”
More than 60,000 people have liked the post on Facebook, and numerous of her followers have posted encouraging messages in the post’s comments section.
Scout, who was in the throwback photo, made the revelation after uploading a more recent image of herself and her father on social media in which they could be seen smiling at each other.
Scout described learning how much love, support, and prayers were being sent their way as a “humbling” experience during such a difficult time for the family.
“Our family is currently going through a very difficult period, therefore we genuinely appreciate all of your love, compassion, and support.”
“We’re dealing with this as a strong family unit, and we wanted to invite his admirers because we know how much you all appreciate him.”
“As Bruce always says, live it up, and that’s precisely what we’re going to do together,”
