According to Kensington Palace, Kate Middleton’s recovery is progressing as planned. On Tuesday, the palace revealed that the Princess of Wales was “doing well.” It denied there were any problems surrounding her after William once again decided to cancel royal duties since. At the time, some had believed it could have something to do with Kate’s condition.
While the Princess of Wales won’t be back for at least another month, the fact that she has already left Adelaide Cottage once with her family indicates that Kate must be doing as well as possible.
But since the palace has made so few statements about her, the internet has been flooded with conspiracy theories about what is happening. It’s easy to say some theories are definitely more wild than others.
It’s been one month since Kate Middleton was released from The London Clinic, spending 13 days at the hospital after undergoing her abdominal surgery.
Kate Middleton health – recovery from surgery
She finally could be reunited with her children, who hadn’t seen her since before the surgery.
“The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress,” Kensington Palace said in a statement at the time, announcing the news. “The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.”
“The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world,” they added.
The royal returned to her home of Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate, where she will essentially continue to recover until at least the end of March, per the palace.
“It is sensible to take the time,” a source close to the royal family told People Magazine. “That is a great example to the rest of us, as you’re often told to get back to work as soon as possible, which can be damaging. It is good for all of us to see her taking the time, recovering properly and then coming back. We can all learn from that.”
Following Kate’s release, news about how Kate was doing never reached the public. The princess wanted to recover in private, while King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer, chose a more public path, waving to fans and doing some shorter appearances.
Royal expert demanded Kate Middleton to share health update
Even though we don’t have any details on the surgery, royal expert Michael Cole has stated that we can be sure it was a serious matter.
Speaking to GB News, Cole said that it probably would be a long time before we see her in action again, claiming it was a “major” surgery. Meanwhile, ever since Kensington Palace announced that the Princess of Wales had undergone abdominal surgery, fans worldwide have wondered and speculated what it was really about.
As stated by Kensington Palace, Kate Middleton hoped that “the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible.” She wished that “her personal medical information remains private.”
However, some argue that may not be the best path for Kate to walk down.
Almost two months after her latest public appearance, on Christmas Day, Newsweek’s chief royal correspondent, Jack Royston, demands William and Kate to reveal more details about what is going on.
Speaking with Sky News, Royston stated that it doesn’t have to do with the public having the right to know what medical condition Kate is in, but rather to reassure the public that she isn’t having serious issues.
“[The Princess of Wales] is still recovering, we still haven’t seen her, we still haven’t seen a picture of her,” the chief royal correspondent said.
“I am starting to wonder if it might be worth their while considering whether they could release something that had been taken at a calm private moment, just to reassure people that she is ok.”
“She is making a steady recovery”
While Kate hasn’t made any statements about her medical condition and how she is doing, Prince William has at least given the public some insight, saying she is doing fine.
Experts have had many different theories and projections about Kate’s recovery in the last month. One argued that she might not fully recover for nine months, while another believed Adelaide Cottage wasn’t a good place to recover as it reportedly was a freezing house.
Nonetheless, as Kate left the family home with her husband and their children to spend some days at Anmer Hall in Sandringham for the kids’ half-term some weeks ago, royal expert Jennie Bond took that as a sign that things are heading in the right direction. The fact that she could travel to Anmer Hall was a good sign, Bond stated.
“One of the great beauties of Norfolk is that it is so accessible from London. Of course, if you’re royal, you can get anywhere quicker than most – and sometimes they probably use a helicopter – but even by car, it’s only a couple of hours, and that makes it so much easier than getting to Balmoral,” the former BBC royal correspondent told OK! Magazine.
“Windsor is lovely, and they have a beautiful house, of course. But it’s also on the Heathrow flight path, and that can be very intrusive. William and Kate find all they want as a family in the wide open spaces that Norfolk offers.”
Jennie Bond added, “I think it’s very encouraging that Kate has been well enough to make the trip to Sandringham. It shows that she is making a steady recovery. Also, the change will probably be most welcome… the same four walls must get a bit tedious when you are recuperating as she is.”
It didn’t take long after Kate’s surgery was announced that many so-called insiders claimed the most bizarre things about the princess’s health.
Crazy conspiracy theories about Kate Middleton flood the internet
For example, a report from journalist Concha Calleja stated that Kate’s life was in “great danger,” and she shared this on the program Fiesta. Moreover, Calleja claimed that “practically an entire hospital” was set up in Kate and William’s home for the recovery period.
“The doctors had to take drastic decisions at that moment because of the complications that arose,” Calleja said.
“The decision was to put her in an induced coma. They had to intubate her,” the Spanish journalist. “There were serious complications that they didn’t expect because the operation went well, but the postoperative period didn’t go so well.”
However, the news was false, a palace source told The Times.
“It’s total nonsense,” the source said.” No attempt was made by that journalist to fact-check anything that she said with anyone in the household. It’s fundamentally, totally made-up, and I’ll use polite English here: it’s absolutely not the case.”
As millions and millions of people are on social media, stories that are not true at all can suddenly become some sort of truth as they are changed by the minute by different users. Meanwhile, the interest has always been a place for conspiracy theories, from the moon landing to the murder of JFK and more.
Kate Middleton’s two-month absence from the spotlight has fueled many conspiracy theories. And some are more intense than others.
‘Kate is missing’ royal conspiracy theories
On Tuesday, Prince William missed his godfather King Constantine’s memorial service in Windsor due to a “personal matter.” The non-specified explanation of William’s absence was fuel to the “Where is Kate” fire, and as Kensington Palace indeed realized it, they also shared that Kate “continues to be doing well.”
There have even been theories that, after the crazy claim that she had been in a coma, she isn’t alive.
Meanwhile, especially after Concha Calleja’s claims spread internationally on social media, the conspiracy theories replaced each other, and in later weeks, there have been even more.
For example, one X (formerly known as Twitter) account began a conversation about where Kate Middleton is – which expanded in every direction.
“I am not trying to be a conspiracy theorist about the situation at all, but it is WILD how much the royal family has shut down press about where Kate Middleton is/why she hasn’t been seen,” she wrote, as Yahoo reported.
Everyone didn’t like the conspiracy theory, with another user shutting down the discussion in minutes by replying, “It’s almost like privacy.”
Social media users weren’t done, and the post from the user that first started the conversation turned into a discussion with no ending.
Conspiracy theorist says Kate & William’s marriage is troubled – her absence explained
As per Yahoo, another account wrote, “This extraordinary shutdown is not protecting Kate or guarding her privacy. It’s protecting the institution itself. Whatever has happened to her has jeopardised the royal family and the whole idea of monarchy in an unprecedented way.”
A little more than a week ago, Prince William appeared by himself at the BAFTA Film Awards as Kate Middleton continues to recover. Usually, the Princess of Wales would be by her husband’s side at those events, but naturally, she wasn’t.
Of course, this also became fuel to another conspiracy theory online, with one account speculating that the reason for Kate not being present could be that they have a troubled marriage. The reason she wasn’t there was, according to the social media user, to “get the public used to seeing him without Kate. That marriage is so over. They’re phasing Kate out.”
It should go without saying that these conspiracy theories have no confirmations, nor have they been commented on by Kensington Palace. As for now, they are only speculations from people on social media, with some of the accounts also being anonymous.
Ultimately, we have to wait for Kensington Palace – or any royal family members – to give us news on Kate’s recovery. Until then, let’s wish her all the best in her recovery by sharing this article on Facebook with our friends and family!
