“They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?” a newborn asked God.
“Your angel will look out for you and watch over you.”
The baby went on to ask, “But tell me, here in heaven I don’t have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.”
“Your angel will sing and smile for you,” according to God. “And you’ll experience your angel’s love and be overjoyed.”
“And how would I be able to understand when others speak to me if I don’t know the language,” the baby inquired once more.
God promised, “Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.”
“And when I want to talk to you, what will I do?”
Your angel will join your hands and show you how to pray, the Lord said.
“Who will safeguard me?”
God said,
“Your angel will protect you, even at the cost of its own life.”
“But because I won’t be able to see you anymore, I will always be sad.”
“Even though I’ll always be there for you,” God promised, “Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me.”
There was at that time a great deal of serenity in Heaven, but the youngster urgently prayed, “God, if I am to leave now, please tell me the name of my angel,” as voices from Earth could be heard.
“You’ll just refer to her as ‘Mom.’”
