Austin Lee Russell, the Pawn Stars actor better known to fans as Chumlee, is reportedly planning to accept a plea deal for the drug- and weapon-related charges that came as a consequence of a police raid on his Las Vegas residence in March.
Rumor has it that Russell has agreed to admit to possessing both marijuana and a controlled drug. He will also enter a guilty plea to the less serious charge of attempting to possess a gun illegally. Russell may spend up to five years in prison if the plea agreement is accepted.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Russell intends to enter a guilty plea to one count of attempting to possess a controlled drug.
A second felony weapon charge will be upheld as part of the plea deal.
In addition to the three years of probation, Russell must surrender the weapons and drugs the police said they discovered on his property. Additionally, he needs to be treated.
After discovering 12 firearms, a kilogram of marijuana, and a trace amount of methamphetamine, police detained Russell on March 9. The police had investigated a sexual assault and had gone to Russell’s house.
According to Fox News, if Russell, 33, continues to be trouble-free, the criminal case against him will be dismissed. If that occurs, he might serve two to five years in a state prison. He was released after posting a $62,000 bail, but he was never charged in the sexual assault case.
Russell is expected to show up in court to present his case, according to Press. Additionally, Xanax prescription pills were found by the authorities in Russell’s house.
Russell’s attorney, David Chesnoff, said in a statement that they will evaluate the facts and the legality of the search in court. We both have a strong faith in the law and are confident that the case will be resolved fairly, according to Austin Russell.
Following a police raid on his Las Vegas home, Russell, 33, was taken into custody. Despite the fact that the raid was connected to an investigation into a sexual assault, Russell was not charged in that case. Despite this, he was accused of drug possession and having 19 weapons. After posting bond, he was given permission to go.
According to rumors, Russell was known for throwing crazy parties. The insider reportedly used narcotics frequently and owned a number of weapons.
The network that airs Pawn Stars said last week that they are merely letting the legal system play out for the time being, despite the History Channel’s lack of statement on the topic.
