Tori Kelly has broken her silence after being transported to the hospital on Sunday after collapsing during a dinner with friends.
On Thursday, the 30-year-old singer took to Instagram to publish a photo of a handwritten statement in which she expressed her grief over her “unexpected health challenges,” though she did not elaborate.
“Hello friends…,” the note began. “As you may know, I’m struggling with some unforeseen health issues. It’s been a frightening few days, but I’m feeling your prayers and can’t quit thinking about you.”
Tori’s health is improving, but she admits that additional research into what caused her health drop is needed. “I’m feeling stronger and more hopeful now, but there are still some things to learn. I’m extremely grateful to the wonderful physicians and nurses who have been taking care of me.”
She went on to say. “Of course, I’m heartbroken about all of the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but I know my health must come first,” she continued, alluding to her new EP, Tori, and her now-canceled Friday appearance at Los Angeles’ Roxy Theatre.
“Until I see you again, I still want you to enjoy a project that represents the happy place I’ve been in the last few years,” Tori said. “I’m not going to let this obstacle get in the way of your music on Friday! I adore you all and am so amazed by the love and attention you have shown me. “From the bottom of my heart, thank you!”
The singer’s remark comes after her husband, André Murillo, provided an update on her condition following reports of her hospitalization on Wednesday. “Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger,” he wrote on Instagram. “We’re not out of the woods yet, but we can see the sun.” Just waiting for a couple more responses.” “Your love and kindness have been overwhelming,” he continued. “Thank you very much!”
Tori’s health problems were initially reported by TMZ, which claimed she fell while out for dinner with pals in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night. According to the website, she was “out for a while” after her heartbeat increased.
Tori’s friends allegedly rushed her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit after physicians detected blood clots in her lungs and legs.
