Although it has been years since 4-year-old Madeleine went missing from an apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, while her parents were out having dinner, her case is still considered “the most heavily reported missing-person case in modern history.”
Unfortunately, 15 years later, no one knows where Madeleine is or if she is still alive, yet her parents and family never gave up hope of ever seeing her again.
On what would have been her 18th birthday, May 12, 2022, her bereaved parents shared a heartbreaking message. “We love you, we’re waiting for you, and we’ll never give up.”
The police were ready to close the investigation after so many years of searching, but the search was recently extended for another 12 months, and £302,470 money was allowed.
Former Metropolitan Police investigator Peter Bleksley, who also said, “As long as there are unanswered questions, I can see why there is a case,” warned that financing could raise some eyebrows in an era of slashed police finances.
“I understand the frustrations of missing-child families who do not have the luxury of such ongoing funding,” he added.
So far, over £13 million has been spent to locate Madeleine, and her parents are ‘overjoyed’ that funding for the search has been extended. “This is fantastic news. Kate and Gerry, Maddie’s parents, will be overjoyed. It gives us new hope,” a family source stated.
Christian Brueckner, 44, a German pedophile, is currently serving a seven-year term for raping a 72-year-old American in Praia da Luz in 2005. At the same time, he is awaiting a trial in another case in which he is accused of raping an Irish tour representative in 2004.
According to investigative journalist Mark Williams-Thomas, who thoroughly investigated the suspect, there is no connection between Brueckner and the missing girl.
The story has seen a dramatic resurgence recently, with everyone stunned by a 21-year-old Polish woman named Julia Wendell, who has gone viral after sensationally claiming to be Madeleine McCann.
Julia has over a million Instagram followers and posts ‘proof’ of her allegations.
Julia publishes evidence of her claims, such as physical similarities with the missing Madeleine, such as the famed unusual eye deformity and other facial features, on her Instagram account titled “Help me, I need to talk with Kate and Gerry McCann” with the handle “iammadeleinemccan.” Julia claims to remember very little of her childhood.
According to media reports, Julia’s narrative reached Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry, who were eager to follow up on the lead. They could also accept Julia’s offer to conduct a DNA test.
The most recent information, however, casts a large shadow of doubt on the 21-year-old’s claim after a Swiss artificial intelligence company conducted an extensive facial recognition test to assess whether what she’s said is real.
According to Sky, Ava-X uploaded photographs of Julia and Madeleine to a Swiss artificial intelligence company’s Iris facial recognition program. The algorithms decided the young woman was “practically impossible” to be the missing Madeleine.
We sincerely hope that the case of Madeleine McCann will be solved and her parents will be able to find some peace.
