Tammy Slaton did not receive the reception she had hoped for when she told her family about her engagement.
In an exclusive clip from Tuesday’s episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters, the 36-year-old contacts her family to announce her engagement to now-husband Caleb Willingham.
Tammy had been focusing on her weight loss journey at Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio, where the pair met.
“I’m not sure how they’ll respond, but I truly hope they’re thrilled for me,” Tammy says. “I’m worried.”
Tammy shares the news with her sisters Amy, Amanda, Misty, and her brother Chris in the video. All her siblings sat quietly, confused when she mentioned the proposal and showed off her ring.
“I mean, I noticed on social media that you had a boyfriend, but that was only a few weeks ago,” Amanda explains.
“What the f—,” Amy exclaims, confessing. “Tammy had me convinced she was joking. She wishes to marry a stranger.”
“But, on the other hand, she’s always loved fiercely and loved fast,” she continues, recounting when Tammy told a guy she loved him an hour after meeting him. “I’m not going to lie, I used to be the same way. But I matured.”
Amy then asked Tammy how long she’s known Caleb, and she stated they’d been dating for a month and were getting married in two weeks. Misty nods as Amanda adds that Tammy is moving too soon in the relationship.
“Are you f—ing kidding me, two weeks?” According to Amanda. “Why should you rush into anything? That isn’t necessary. I’d like to know your first, middle, and last names before my sister gets your last name.”
