Dolly Parton: The Country Music Legend Who Never Plans to Stop
Dolly Parton, the iconic country music star with a career spanning over 50 years, recently made a bold statement about her future plans. In an interview with Ken Bruce on the UK’s “Greatest Hits Radio,” she expressed her hope to “hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song on stage someday – hopefully one I’ve written.” While it may sound morbid to some, Parton’s passion and dedication to her craft shine through.
Parton’s belief in keeping dreams alive is resolute. She views each dream as a tree with strong roots, nurturing its growth. With a smile, she admits, “I’m not one to sit around doing nothing.” This determination has propelled her to become one of the most beloved country music stars in history.
But Parton is not content to rest on her laurels. She continues to push boundaries and explore new genres. Her latest venture into rock music with her album “Rockstar” was inspired by her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. Initially, she felt the need to earn her place in the rock world as a country musician. The album features collaborations with music legends such as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Stevie Nicks, Sting, and many others.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Parton has big plans for the future. She dreams of having her own TV network where she can produce shows about her life and passions. She also envisions launching a fashion, beauty, and wig line. And for her fans who want to delve deeper into her story, Parton will release a book in October titled “Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones.”
Despite her incredible success, Parton remains grounded. She acknowledges that as long as she and her husband’s health are good, there is no stopping her. Her work ethic and love for her art fuel her desire to keep creating and performing.
Mark your calendars for November 17, when “Rockstar” will be released worldwide. Get ready for another incredible chapter in Dolly Parton’s legendary career.
