Hayden Panettiere, an actress, recently addressed the issue surrounding her interview with PEOPLE Magazine on Instagram. During the tearful interview, Panettiere talked about her younger brother Jansen Panettiere’s untimely passing in 2023. However, several viewers voiced concern about her pronunciation, mistaking it for slurred words.

In an Instagram post, Panettiere defended herself against the attacks and expressed her disappointment at being made fun of. She said that she was forced to deal with the circumstance in which she wouldn’t face criticism for her speech rate.

Prior to the interview, Panettiere disclosed that she had been experiencing insomnia as a result of one of her dogs undergoing emergency surgery. The interview carried on for a long time in spite of her tiredness. When it became apparent that Panettiere was weakening, especially given the gravity of the subject matter, her representation finally called an end to the interview.

Panettiere clarified that she had asked to conduct a follow-up interview via Zoom or to retake the interview at a later date, but she had been assured that neither was required. She further underlined that she and her doctor had a private conversation on the choice she made regarding her medication and mental health.

Panettiere drew attention to the problem of social media toxicity and how it might negatively affect a person’s mental state. She thanked those who stood by her during the turmoil and asked others to think about the implications of their remarks when hiding behind a computer screen.

Panettiere emphasised the value of mental health as she wrapped up her post, admitting that she is a work in progress just like everyone else.
