Keanu Reeves remembers his late friend and co-star Lance Reddick.
Following the news of Reddick’s death, the actor and John Wick director Chad Stahelski issued a joint statement. Reddick played hotel concierge Charon in all four Wick flicks and was set to participate in the upcoming spinoff film Ballerina.
“We are shocked and heartbroken by the death of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick,” the couple said in a statement. “He was an absolute professional and a pleasure to work with.”
“His wife, Stephanie, children, family, and friends are in our thoughts and prayers. We dedicate this film to his cherished memory. We will all miss him terribly.”
Lionsgate also issued a statement, adding, “Without Lance Reddick and the fantastic depth he brought to Charon’s compassion and unflappable charisma, the universe of Wick would not be what it is.”
“Lance leaves an unforgettable legacy and a vast amount of work behind him, but we will remember him as our delightful, happy friend and Concierge. We are astonished and heartbroken, and our hearts go out to his beloved family and fans worldwide.”
Reddick died of natural causes on Friday. He was sixty years old.
“Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick died unexpectedly this morning from natural causes,” his rep said. “His wife, Stephanie Reddick, and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick survive him. Contributions in his memory can be donated to momcares.org in Baltimore, his hometown. Lance will be missed dearly. Please respect his family’s privacy during this difficult time.”
Reddick will also star in the upcoming remake of White Guys Can’t Jump and was previously cast as Zeus in the Disney+ TV adaption of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
