Many fans will remember Lara Flynn Boyle as Donna Hayward, Laura Palmer’s best friend on David Lynch’s legendary and arguably groundbreaking television series “Twin Peaks.”

Boyle rose to prominence in the 1990s as a result of this role. But, since then, Boyle has gotten a lot of attention for her remarkable physical transformation, which many attributes to several plastic surgeries.

Boyle appeared to have it all during her meteoric rise to fame in the 1990s. She appeared confident, attractive, and intelligent. In a 2001 interview, the performer appeared to own her “bad girl” persona.

“I’m the kind of lady who walks into a party, and all the other women leave,” Boyle told the publication. “I believe I terrify people. I’m a bad girl. Some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Kyle MacLachlan, David Spade, and Jack Nicholson, were drawn to Boyle’s rebellious aura.”

So why did the stunning actress who doesn’t hold back drastically change her appearance? What effect did it have? Continue reading to find out how Boyle’s career was harmed by plastic surgery.

Laura Flynn Boyle was concerned about aging and losing opportunities to younger actors. Flynn was quoted in a British newspaper in 2014 as saying, “I know I may be running out of time. There are simply not enough parts available for older women. In terms of vanity, I don’t want to get older because I think I look good right now.”

Boyle may have begun having cosmetic treatments in her 30s because she was afraid of getting older. Boyle’s plastic surgery, ironically, may have harmed her appearance, resulting in fewer roles.

Boyle’s plastic surgeon, Paul S. Nassif, MD, FACS, discussed Boyle’s appearance in an interview in 2010. “Lara Flynn Boyle appears to have undergone rhinoplasty, lip augmentation, Botox, cosmetic fillers, and possibly a browlift and facelift,” he claimed.

“She should forego additional treatments and would not benefit from additional work at this time.” Plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer agreed, telling the publication, “I feel that Lara Flynn Boyle has gone far with the fillers to her cheeks and lips.”

Hollywood, on the other hand, adores a comeback.

After the release of her most recent film, “Death in Texas,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in June, “I never went anywhere.”
