Nicole Kidman is very reserved about her family and personal life and rarely speaks about it.
She attended the Oscars with her husband, Keith Urban, and the couple seemed more in love than ever – having reunited after a spell apart due to the singer’s Las Vegas residency.
Nicole’s ex-husband, Tom Cruise, was also scheduled to attend the wedding but did not show up.
Following their split in February 2001, the former pair remained tight-lipped about their romance; however, Nicole previously expressed thoughts about the Top Gun star in a personal piece for New York magazine in 2018.
“I’m always reluctant to talk about being married to Tom Cruise at 22 since I’m now married to the man who is my great love [Keith Urban], and it almost feels disrespectful,” she wrote.
“I married quite young, but it wasn’t for power; it was for protection.”
During their marriage, Nicole and Tom adopted two children, Isabella, 30, and Connor, 28. The Undoing actress had two daughters with Keith, Sunday Rose, 14, and Faith Margaret, 12.
While Nicole prefers to keep her children out of the spotlight, her two youngest girls have appeared as extras in several shows, including Big Little Lies and The Undoing.
Nicole talked out to News.com.au about her children playing characters on The Undoing.
“They’re used to being extras, yet they did five days in the frigid New York cold, never complained, and got no special treatment,” she explained.
So they came home one day and announced, ‘We got a line!’”
While Nicole has never spoken openly about her children’s relationships, there is little doubt that they are all close and get together whenever they are in the same place. Nicole’s two oldest children are also Scientology devotees, having followed in their father’s footsteps.
Nicole responded to a question about her children’s decision to join the religion by telling The Sun in 2019: “Motherhood is about the journey. Whether you are an adoptive or birth mother, you will experience great peaks and dips. A child requires affection.”
“They have decided to become Scientologists. It is our responsibility as parents to provide unconditional love constantly.”
