Billy Joel’s fans learned on Sunday that the singer will not be performing at the year’s last event, which he was slated to headline (Dec. 18). Joel’s illness has been brought to everyone’s attention, and he has been recommended to take some time off to rest his voice.
“I’m disappointed to share that I’m under doctor’s instructions for voice rest due to a viral virus, so unfortunately, I must postpone my show at Madison Square Garden on Monday, December 19th to June,” Joel posted on Twitter and Instagram.
The concert was initially planned for Monday, December 19th. This was in response to the news that the show would have to be rescheduled.
“I’m very sorry to let you know so close to the event, but I was hoping to be closer to a full recovery by now,” he stated. “I apologize for informing you so close to the show’s date.”
“I’m sorry to have to tell you this so close to the event,” the speaker apologized. “Despite our best efforts, that did not come to fruition. I hope we can catch up on each other’s life in the future year.”
According to an additional statement issued by Joel’s spokeswoman and placed on his official website, the ceremony set for Monday evening has been postponed until June 2, 2023.
There is no need to exchange any tickets purchased for the event on December 19, 2022, as they will all be valid for admittance on Friday, June 2, 2023.
Take into account the likelihood that the performance on June 2 will be relocated or postponed if it conflicts with a playoff game. If you need any additional information, please visit www.msg.com.
Joel’s Madison Square Garden franchise run is set to resume on January 13, 2023, exactly where it left off the previous year.
