Lynda Carter took to social media to share a heartfelt obituary for her late husband, Robert A. Altman, with whom she had been married for 37 years.

A week after Robert’s death, the Wonder Woman star of the 1980s spoke out about the loss of her husband, who was 73 at the time of his passing.

The actress married Robert in 1984, and the couple had two children together: Jessica and James. Because of her portrayal of a female superhero, the actress has become a TV icon.

Lynda shared a few black and white photos of the pair in the early stages of their courtship and a memorial, expressing her grief that the “love of my life” was no longer with her.

Lynda wrote on Instagram, “One week ago today, my much-loved husband Robert A. Altman passed away.”

“Robert has been and will continue to be my only genuine love.”

“Our 37 years of marriage were an extraordinary gift to one other,” Lynda continued. “We shared a passion that I believe everyone should be able to experience at some point in their lives.”

“We were each other’s champions, always looking for each other’s safety.”

Lynda, a previous Miss World USA candidate, remarked that their children were the “greatest joy of Robert’s life.”

“I believe he continues to live on through them because I see so much of Robert in them,” she continued.

“Jessica, James, and I would want to say thank you,” Lynda wrote in a letter to her audience. The stories you tell us about meeting Robert at concerts or through his work in the video game industry are some of our favorites. He had a great time getting to know you and hearing your stories.

Robert was the CEO of the video game company ZeniMax, and it is still unknown what caused his death.

According to the deceased’s son, James, his death came too soon.

Lynda then praised Robert, saying, “You are the most respectable person I have ever had the opportunity to know.”

“And I was allowed to become your wife and the mother of your children. I am eternally grateful for your love in my life.”

“Nothing could have prepared our family for this time, but we will try our best to honor the legacy you’ve left behind and follow our dreams. Thank you for everything you’ve done. I swear to love you forever and ever.”
