Saving Private Ryan actor Tom Sizemore died at the age of 61.

Doctors told Tom’s family on February 28 that “there is no more hope.”

Saving Private Ryan star Tom Sizemore passed away after suffering a brain aneurysm. He was 61.

According to the actor’s manager, Tom died in a hospital in Burbank, California, who shared heartbreaking news with fans.

Doctors informed Tom’s family on February 28 that “there is no further hope” and that an “end-of-life decision” was indicated. According to physicians, the actor collapsed at his Los Angeles home on February 19 due to a brain aneurysm caused by a stroke.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1961, he debuted in Oliver Stone’s Born on the Fourth of July in 1989.

He also appeared in the director’s 1994 masterpiece Natural Born Killers, Point Break, where he co-starred with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, and True Romance, where he co-starred with Christian Slater and Val Kilmer. In 2017, he played insurance agent Anthony Sinclair in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival miniseries.

“I was very, very satisfied with how my career was going,” he remarked in 2005, adding that “playing second fiddle to Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan is nothing to sneeze at.”

Tom was well-known for performing in Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-winning picture Saving Private Ryan in 1998.

But, his personal life was tainted by tragedy and criminal allegations, including allegations of sexual assault.

He was convicted of domestic assault, uttering criminal threats, and harassing his ex-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss, dubbed “Hollywood’s Madam,” in 2003. He rejected the claims but later, in a statement delivered to the judge, revealed that he had “permitted my inner demons to take over my life.”

He was sentenced to six months in prison for the charges.

Tom’s life was terrible.

In 2013, he published his memoir, By Some Miracle, I Made It Out of There – the title was inspired by a line from Saving Private Ryan – which documented his long battle with addiction; he began using drugs when he was 15 years old.

“I was a guy who had come from nothing and reached the top. I’d had the multimillion-dollar property, the Porsche, the restaurant I half owned with Robert De Niro,” he said before sharing that fame had transformed him into a “spoiled movie star.”

In 1996, Tom married actress Maeve Quinlan, but the couple separated in 1999. He had twin twins, Jagger and Jayden, with then-partner Janelle McIntire in July 2005; he was not involved in their lives for a long time due to his addiction.

“Fatherhood didn’t change me all that much at first. “I was sick,” he admitted to The Reel Breakdown in 2012. “And the guys remained hidden from me.”

“My life’s gotten a lot better; it’s been a true chronicle,” he revealed in a 2017 interview, indicating he had been clean for four years.

“I’m coming up on four years sober, it was incredibly difficult; the first two years were awful. I feared I’d never be able to smile again. But I’m smiling again, and you must stay till you feel well.”
